Hey Boy, Hey Girl
The Chemical Brothers new site is nice, but it has one genius application.
Click on the “Live” section, and there is a nice Google Map application to show where they are touring this year. I love Google Maps.
But, better than a map (Better than a map? No.) is the ability to share your photos and videos from each gig. The real genius of this is that you don't even have to upload it to the Chemical Brothers site - you simply Tag it correctly in Flickr or Youtube.
To get your photos/videos of gigs on our site upload them to Flickr / YouTube. You'll need to tag them with the tag we've published for the gig - you'll find that on this page. That's it, they'll appear -as if by magic.
You can even upload photos/videos of any of our past gigs - you'll find the tags you need in the timetrip section of the site.
So, for example, you tage their gig at the Roundhouse in May “CHEMROUNDHOUSE07”.
Here's the Flickr stream for that tag
Here's the Youtube stream for that tag
And this is how it looks on the site.
It is a really clever use of tags, is a focussed social media application, and is a great way to have a dynamic site without having to update it all the time.
