The Nokia N95

If you're into new toys, you may well have been salivating at the Nokia N95. Well, Lucy in Strategy blagged one with her new contract. First impresions -

I’ve only ever been able to call, text and take (rubbish) photos on a mobile before so when my N95 arrived last weekend I was a bit daunted by all its killer features. It’s basically a sat nav, a laptop, an MP3 player, a 5mp and video camera all in one….oh and you can also call people on it. Downsides are the time lag in opening and swapping between applications and its size – it’s a bit too bulky for me to hold and text easily (and to fit in my skinny jeans pocket). My favourite feature though is having Stephen Hawkins call out the name of the person who’s ringing me. Reckon this smartphone is going to be wasted on me….

Which reminds me - I don't know if you have seen the online campaign. I'm not sure about it - it seems to elaborate and broadcasty. It's a bit much. But it works, so why criticise. The same could be said of the Volvo stuff mentioned below.

I kind of think the TV ad sums it up better though…it is interesting to contrast the digital and TV approach to the same brand proposition - maybe it was a proposition that just suited TV better?
