Missing pet in second life
I'm on the mailing list for the Download Festival and in the run up to this year's festival they have implemented a strategy for Second Life. They have hidden their mascot/logo/brand dog in SL and are offering a prize for those who can locate it. A pdf of the email is here.
Users are required to open a Second Life account and go to three locations and interact with objects in order to get clues.
It's quite an interesting proposition and certainly could be applied to any number of opportunities to promote a message or service.
On a broader Second Life tip, it seems to me that the worst use of a Second Life presence for an organisation would be to build an office on a street and populate it with people. Given that in a virtual environment anything is possible then the bounds of creativity should be limitless.
